Encuentros breves con hombres repulsivos

  • Dirección de Daniel Veronese
  • Country: Chile - Argentina
  • Premiere: 2020
  • Target audience: +14 years
  • Length: 60 minutes

In "Encuentros breves con hombres repulsivos," the theatrical adaptation that the renowned Argentine director Daniel Veronese made from the novel by David Foster Wallace, there are two characters: A and B. Two actors who interact and, during eight brief and independent encounters, alternate roles. The themes are varied, but all point to a common focus: the contemporary male condition as it appears in encounters with women—in love, sex, and even loss. A confrontation of dangerous and uncomfortable edges that, at some point and somewhere, began to be socially permitted and reflects the lack of communication between genders. Overprotection, intimidation, degradation. This is the terrain where the play unfolds.

" Encuentros breves con hombres repulsivos" stars Marcelo Alonso (director by El padre y La última sesión de Freud) and Francisco Reyes (Lear, el rey y su doble, La desobediencia de Marte), and is a co-production of the Fundación Teatro a Mil and Teatro Finis Terrae, with the collaboration of T4 theatrical productions (Argentina).
