Encontrémonos para dar inicio a la Semana de Programadores del Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil.
Vivimos tiempos de transformación.
En Chile, en el año 2019, iniciamos un proceso de movilización social que llevó a la realización de un plebiscito para preguntar a la ciudadanía si deseaba una nueva Constitución. El 80 por ciento de los votantes se manifestó a favor y actualmente tenemos, por primera vez en nuestra historia, una Convención Constitucional integrada por representantes electos por votación popular, paritaria y con escaños reservados para pueblos originarios, que redactará la nueva Carta Magna.
A ello se suma la reciente elección presidencial donde la mayoría de los chilenos votó por defender los cambios avanzados en los últimos años para lograr una sociedad más justa, equitativa y solidaria.
Atrás parece quedar un modelo de desarrollo que se agota, sensación compartida más allá de nuestras fronteras.
Lo de ahora es un llamado a imaginar otras formas de hacer, de habitar, de crear.
Esta es una invitación a conversar sobre esos futuros que queremos y a trabajar juntos y juntas para crearlos hoy.

We’re living in times of change.
In Chile in 2019, social protests led to a plebiscite asking citizens if they wanted a new Constitution. Eighty percent of voters indicated that they did and, for the first time in our history, a Constitutional Convention is currently in session to draw up the new Carta Magna, made up of representatives elected by popular vote, with parity and seats set aside for native people.
In addition, in the recent presidential election, the majority of Chileans voted to defend the changes of the last few years and create a fairer, more equative and more supportive society.
A development model on its last legs appears to have been consigned to the past. This feeling is shared by others beyond our borders.
What comes now is a call to imagine different ways of doing things, of cohabiting and of creating.
This is an invitation to talk about the future we want and to work together to create it today.
