Olga Pericet
Director
The dancer and choreographer shares her vibrant art with audiences at major festivals and theaters around the world. She drinks from tradition and throws herself into the abyss of the unseen with shows in which a flamenco of opposites beats: dark and luminous, feminine and masculine, disturbing and beautiful. National Dance Prize in Spain 2018, about her have written: “One of the great contemporary figures of flamenco” (Paris Art); “A mercurial presence and fearless experimenter” (The New Yorker); “Possessor of a fierce energy locked in a sophisticated technique” (The Guardian).
Olga is a great renovator of flamenco and many awards recognize her technical mastery and her ability to bring together the different disciplines of Spanish dance, updating them in an interpretative language with her own stamp. Among those most recent recognitions are the MAX Award of the Performing Arts of Spain for Best Choreography for La Materia (2024); MAX Award for Best Dance Performer for Un cuerpo infinito (2020), the Extraordinary Theater Award ACE Awards 2016 (Association of Chroniclers of Shows of New York); among others.
Sometimes her pieces are the result of a personal creation process, others join her talent to that of other artists from different disciplines. Among her latest shows are La materia ( 2023), La leona ( 2022) and La espina que quiso ser flor o la flor que soñó con ser bailaora (2017).
Daniel Abreu
Director
He is a dancer, choreographer and National Dance Award 2014 in Spain. During his artistic training, he graduated in Psychology, a fact that determines his choreographic works, always endowed with a careful poetic symbolism.
His company project arises in 2004, being the volume of creations and collaborations what gave rise to the concept of what is now known as Cía. Daniel Abreu. In 2018 he is appointed artistic director of Lava Compañía de Danza, resident at the Auditorio de Tenerife, for whom he creates the award-winning work Abisal.
In parallel he continues close to other creative realities, such as directing projects for other groups and creators like Fattoria Vittadini, Zagreb Dance Company, the Nomads Company, 10 & 10 Danza, Titoyaya Project and Teatre Tanca Zawirowania.

Two dancers, national dance winners of Spain, Olga Pericet and Daniel Abreu, come together to present “La Materia”, an award-winning flamenco piece that goes on a journey to the origins of flamenco. This is their debut at the Teatro a Mil International Festival 2025.
“La Materia” is a flamenco dance work produced by the 2018 National Dance Prize winner in Spain, Olga Pericet. This is the second chapter of a trilogy inspired by the guitars of luthier Antonio de Torres (Almería, Spain, 1817-1892). The director and choreographer of the work takes this journey to the origins of flamenco by investigating the admired instruments created by the man from Almería, considered the father of the modern Spanish guitar.
Premiered for the first time at the Girona High Season Festival in 2023. “La Materia” received the Max Prize for Best Choreography 2024, one of the most important recognitions in Spanish performing arts.
