PLATEA FOCUS is a showcase within PLATEA: Professionals’ Week at the Teatro a Mil International Festival, which each year highlights a specific country or territory to promote its performing arts sector to international presenters and cultural agents, fostering touring opportunities and strengthening professional networks within one of Latin America’s key performing arts markets.
In 2027, we are delighted to announce that PLATEA FOCUS will feature Peru and the Italian region of Puglia, who come to the Teatro a Mil Festival with their respective delegations to present the best of the performing arts from their territories.
From Peru, three works arrive at the festival under the title “Three Perspectives on the Human Experience” - Contemporary Performing Arts from Peru. They are: “Los regalos” by Fernando Castro & Diego Cabello | Compañía de Teatro Físico, “Sus faldas son olas” by Deysi Forcades & Jorge Castro, and “ARDE” by Cory Cruz & Lucía Meléndez.
From Puglia come “Gramsci: Antonio conocido como Nino” by Cía URA Teatro, Francesco Niccolini and Fabrizio Saccomanno, “Los Sócrates y el misterio de la caverna” by Areté Ensamble, and “Pinocho. Un niño como todos los demás” by Factory Compagnia Transadriatica.
