Canciones para Cocinar

Canciones para Cocinar (Songs for Cooking) is a feminist, interdisciplinary performance by Chilean collective LASTESIS. From a reversion of the radio music that accompanies us in the kitchen, the piece tries to articulate historic feminist demands and denouncements, including the struggle for abortion rights, the struggle against domestic violence, and the struggle to break the dichotomy of public and private.

Colectivo LASTESIS es un colectivo artístico, interdisciplinario y feminista de Valparaíso (Chile) compuesto por Daffne Valdés Vargas, Paula Cometa Stange y Sibila Sotomayor Van Rysseghem. El colectivo se dedica a difundir tesis y demandas feministas a través de la performance y la video-performance, combinando artes escénicas, sonoras, gráficas y textiles, con la historia, la filosofía y las ciencias sociales. Sus performances incluyen: Patriarcado y Capital es alianza criminal (2018); el violador eres tú (2020); RESISTENCIA o la reivindicación de un derecho colectivo (2021), La ciudad del futuro junto a Delight Lab (2022) y la intervención callejera un violador en tu camino (2019), replicada en más de 50 países. A su trabajo escénico se suman diversas publicaciones, tales como: Polifonías Feministas (Random House, 2022), Antología Feminista (Debate, 2021); Quemar el miedo (Planeta, 2021) traducido al alemán (S. Fisher, 2021), al italiano (Capovolte, 2022) y al inglés (Verso, 2023) y About wild Capitalism & its patriarchal Performance in our lives (En Why Theatre? Golden Book, NTGent, 2020), entre otras. Han recibido múltiples reconocimientos entre los que destacan el Premio Jaime Castillo Velasco de la Comisión Chilena de DDHH (2020), el Premio a diseño del año en categoría digital (2020), The Design Museum, Reino Unido, y el reconocimiento por la revista TIME en The 2020 TIME100, TIME's list of the world's most influential people. //

Colectivo LASTESIS is an interdisciplinary, feminist, artistic collective from Valparaíso (Chile), made up of Daffne Valdés Vargas, Paula Cometa Stange, and Sibila Sotomayor Van Rysseghem. The collective is devoted to disseminating feminist theory and demands, through performance and video-performance, by combining live arts, sound, graphics, and textiles, with history, philosophy, and the social sciences.
