A group of men and women join a massive march heading toward La Moneda, Chile’s government palace. They carry with them a long history of demands, failures, pain, and betrayal—burdens they want to expose in that distant seat of power that feels further away each day. Above all, though, they drag along the weight of a twisted country.
A historical loop. The same old caravan. Those who have marched forever, in every time and place—and who will keep on marching. Why keep going? How long? With whom? To what end? SUMAR, archivos del fracaso offers a bold take on Diamela Eltit’s visionary 2018 novel, which foresaw the social unrest that would later erupt in Chile, exposing the cracks beneath the so-called oasis before it exploded in fury.
