A crown at the bottom of a pool

In a house that feels like a palace, Félix Garmendia Jones and Odette Lyon Armanet — members of the nobility in a country without kings — host a reception in honor of Agapito Urmenechea Bascuñán, the owner of the crown and the last of his lineage.
But what Agapito doesn’t know is that Félix and Odette, together with Claudia Garmendia Silva and her lover, Danae Álvarez González, have set a trap to steal his crown. All of this unfolds while Estefanía — Félix’s daughter and Odette’s stepdaughter — dreams of deer and huemules, sleeps with Caleb (Félix’s timid driver, lackey, or servant in livery), and looks down on her younger half-sisters born out of wedlock. Meanwhile, Ismenia (the housekeeper) warns Chus (the newest maid) that everything, absolutely everything, is headed toward a bloodbath.
The battle for the crown will be ruthless and drawn out. The huemules are armed, and the future beats with a heart of ice.
