We support initiatives to make seniors and their families and friends fall in love with the performing arts all over again.
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
Al Teatro is a project that aims to bring the performing arts to senior audiences. Through a cultural program of the highest quality, whose stories leave their mark and with unforgettable staging, this initiative was held for the first time in 2018, with free tickets for outstanding and well-received productions from the Chilean theater scene for people aged 60 and over.
In the last two years (2020 and 2021), due to the pandemic, this initiative has moved to digital platforms to continue connecting people and help contribute to improving seniors’ quality of life.
Al Teatro is presented by the Teatro a Mil Foundation and SURA Asset Management Chile, with support from the Ministry of Culture, the Arts and Heritage under the Law of Cultural Donations. All of its versions have involved collaboration with public and private institutions that work with seniors.
2018 VERSION
The first version of Al Teatro included the plays Hilda Peña by Aliocha de la Sotta; Historia de una Gaviota y del Gato que le enseñó a volar by María Izquierdo and Elvira López; La Contadora de Películas by Teatrocinema and Estado Vegetal by Manuela Infante, as well as the premieres of Costanera by María Elena Duvauchelle and Relatividad by Héctor Morales.
