The latest from the director of Neva, Villa y Dragón, had its world premiere in Weimar Germany and now arrives at the 32nd edition of the Teatro a Mil International Festival 2025.
A woman agrees to hide a cow in her backyard. But the animal has a secret story that will put her in mortal danger. Her plan to save herself is recorded by a television program, which seeks to justify violence against the animal and its protector.
Beyond the irony, VACA is a discussion about the cruelty implicit in the “war on crime.” It is also a criticism of the chronic pessimism that subjugates culture and stifles the possibility of imagining the freedom of human beings and cows.
