At the forefront of animation theater
It is one of the fundamental companies of the Chilean theater scene. Its origins date back to the eighties when the company La Troppa was born, creating unforgettable works such as Gemelos or Pinocchio. In 2005, two of its members, Laura Pizarro and Zagal, re-founded under the name of Teatrocinema, a multidisciplinary artistic collective whose language fuses essential elements of theater, film and comics. From this stage emerged Sin Sangre, El Hombre que daba de beber a las mariposas, Historia de amor, La Contadora de películas, El Sueño de Mó, La Canción de la Tierra, Pato Patito, Plata Quemada. Teatrocinema has performed in the most important international theaters and festivals of the world circuit, such as the Festival d' Avignon, the Edinburgh Festival, the Lincoln Center and the Odeon Theater in Paris.

Jules Verne's classic under the unmistakable prism of Teatrocinema returns to the stage of the Teatro a Mil International Festival 2025 to make us wonder about the usual existential questions: what is the future of humanity? How do we react to the unknown?
In the midst of the industrial revolution, the wise Professor Lindenbrock and his nephew Axel decipher a papyrus written by the alchemist Arne Saknussemm, which indicates how to reach the center of the Earth. The two enlightened scientists do not hesitate and decide to make the amazing journey. And so begins a journey of initiation full of physical feats, where the characters multiply their adventures, interpretations, imagination and hunger for knowledge and discovery.
The work recreates the work of Jules Verne and metaphorizes the journey, questioning, today, the future of man, his spirituality and his behavior in the face of the unknown. A playful piece, full of humor and imagination.
