Sea of Silence is a project driven by a deep desire to immerse itself in the journeys of migrant women who travel across deserts and seas in pursuit of the dream of a change in their lives
Sea of Silence is in itself a journey of its own, in which the artist Tamara Cubas embarks and whose final destination is a scenic piece of which little is known because the focus is the journey itself. A project that escapes the victimizing logic of the experience of migrant women, which we know to be dramatic, to focus on the power of those female bodies that face this journey ready to deal with everything that gets in the way, activating survival strategies because the desire and the need for that change drive them to this risky adventure.
The research strategies that Tamara is currently putting into practice in this journey are composed of encounters with migrant women in the places of arrival, "Travesía Corporal" and an installation where the affections of the women's encounters are processed in the artist's body, "Esculpir el Silencio" (Sculpting Silence)
