This free version of Ramón Rocha Monroy's El run run de la Calavera, one of Bolivia's 15 most important novels, becomes a human comedy with masks worthy of the Comedia del Arte.
On the eve of the feast of Todos Santos, an unexpected tragedy shakes a village: its oldest inhabitant has died. Despite the grief over this loss, preparations for the visit of the dead continue with chicha, food, and music, while the deceased in the cemetery demand their place in the celebration. The living and the dead decide to unite in a celebration that defies time. Will death manage to take its dead with it or will it stay to enjoy earthly pleasures?
Tinkunakama, "Until the Reunion" in Quechua, is the name of this play - winner of the Peter Travesí Canedo National Theater Award - which evokes the cyclical nature of life and death, as an eternal coming and going.
