Vampyr continues the speculative exploration begun with "Estado Vegetal" and "Cómo convertirse en Piedra". We continue with the task of imagining a non-anthropocentric, decolonial, and non-humanist theater. This time, we are testing the myth of the vampire. In its European incarnation, this myth is part of a battery of discourses used in times of colonial modernity to sustain the idea of the human and its forced division from the non-human, the dead, the monstrous, or the repressed animality. Distinctions on which the practices of exploitation and depletion with which we systematically deal in the territories of the South will later be sustained.

This research establishes a critical relationship between the myth of the European vampire and the reality of the Chilean hematophagous bat. These species are killed in large numbers by wind turbines. We created an invented mythology, that of a vampire from the South. It is a mockumentary about recalcitrant beings who disobey the mandate of the nature-culture divide. A critical look at green neo-colonialism. An investigation on exhaustion and energy, work and rest. About the relationship with the non-human animals that inhabit our territories and how we link with their cultures when thinking about our future energy projections.
