AppRecuerdos is a way of walking: an audio tour that guides users through 129 places in the city using their smartphones. The App allows users to listen to real stories about experiences lived between 1970 and 1989 at different points in the center of the capital. Through active listening, the user constructs an imaginary scene and becomes part of that memory. AppRecuerdos transforms contemporary history into a walking experience and invites you to discover Santiago in a very special and meaningful way to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the coup d'état.
This project, which is a relaunch of the app released in 2017, is the result of a collaboration between Rimini Protokoll (Berlin) and SonidoCiudad (Santiago), sponsored and produced by Goethe-Institut Chile and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office with the kind support of the German Embassy in Santiago Chile.
